Veda Krishnamurthy was born on 16 October 1992 (age: 26 years, as in 2018) in Kadur, Karnataka, India. She started playing street cricket when she was only 3 years old. She wanted to become a cricketer since childhood and wanted to play for the country one day. For his primary education, he attended Cambridge School in Bengaluru, Karnataka. His parents also enrolled him in karate classes but he did not like karate. However, at the age of 12 he achieved a black belt in karate. In 2005, when she was 13 years old, she started cricket training at the Karnataka Institute of Cricket. On the request of his coach, his father shifted him to Bangalore. His coach Irfan Sait saw his talent and molded him into a very good cricketer. Veda also considers Irfan Sait as her first coach. When she was growing up, she used to watch Mithali Raj play and wanted to play with her someday. Veda has played with Mithali Raj in Women’s ODI and Women’s T20 cricket and they are good friends. For his higher education, he attended Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, Karnataka and obtained a degree in Arts.

At the age of 18, she made her Women’s One Day International (WODI) debut against England Women in Derby in June 2011. In his first match, he scored a half-century (51 runs). He made his T20 debut against Australia in the quadrangular series in Billericay, England on the same tour. Krishnamurthy was a part of the India women’s team at the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup, when the India women’s team lost to the England women’s team by 9 runs. Krishnamurthy had scored 35 runs in that match. She is the third female cricketer from India to play in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). He signed a deal with the Hobart Hurricanes for his third season in the WBBL. She is the youngest player for India to score 1,000 runs in Women’s ODI. Veda Krishnamurthy was bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 2 crore. 30 lakh in the 2024 Women’s Premier League auction to be held in Mumbai on 9th December 2023.
