Text messages Jonathan Majors sent to his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari were presented to the jury on Friday (December 8) amid his ongoing assault trial.
In case you didn’t know, the Marvel star, 34, was accused of assaulting Grace during a dispute in March. She faces misdemeanor charges of assault, aggravated harassment and stalking, but has continued to deny the charges.
Some of the ex-couple’s text messages were entered into evidence while Grace was being questioned. They were previously considered inadmissible. However, the messages appear to allude to another assault incident that took place months before Jonathan was arrested.

The text messages are from September 2022. In them, Grace talks about going to a doctor to receive medical attention for injuries. Jonathan warns her not to go for fear of being asked how she was hurt. She also threatened to commit suicide.
“I’m afraid you have no perspective on what could happen if you go to the hospital,” he texted Grace, via People. “They’ll ask you questions, and since I don’t think you’re really protecting us, it could lead to an investigation even if you lie and they suspect something.”
Grace responded by writing: “If I go, I will tell the doctor I hit my head. I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep and I need stronger painkillers. That’s it: why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you?
Only some of the text messages from the exchange were presented. The people noted that a pretrial court file also referenced texts that included “photographs of a hand, a shoulder, and a buttock.”
The messages are also said to refer to “punching.”
Grace was able to present the evidence after being asked why she initially reported that she did not know how she suffered the injuries in March.
Judge Michael Gaffey acknowledged that Jonathan’s team “knew there could be another reason why she was not forthcoming.”
In the messages, Jonathan threatens suicide and Grace begs him not to end her life.
“Last night I thought about committing suicide instead of coming home,” he said in a message. “I need love too. Or maybe I’m such a monstrous, horrible man that I don’t deserve it. And I should kill myself. In this way my existence is miserable, I want to die.”
In another message he wrote: “I’ll probably kill myself, it’s not really a contemplation anymore.”
“Jonathan, you can’t say this. I’m going to have to tell someone,” Grace told the actor.
Jonathan is said to have avoided eye contact with the courtroom while the messages were read in court.
While on the stand this week, Grace reflected on their relationship and alleged that there were other times when she was “scared” of Jonathan.
