Glow Up Season 4 is out August 19. Ten aspiring MUAs from across the UK will compete on the show and their skills will be judged by MUA industry veterans Val Garland and Dominic Skinner. Both have extensive professional experience in the field and look forward to sharing their knowledge of the upcoming activity. The event will be hosted by TV personality Maya Jama.
The eight-episode series will see contestants compete in aesthetic missions to advance on the show and ultimately win.

Meet the judges of Glow Up season 4.
The judges of the upcoming show are extremely smart in the MUA profession and have built a reputation for themselves. Dominic Skinner is Mac Cosmetics’ global senior artist, while Val Garland is L’Oréal Paris’ global makeup director and beauty editor for British Vogue.
1) Valerie Wreath
Val Garland, 63, is a makeup artist living in London. She grew up in Bristol before moving to Sydney, Australia to pursue a career as a colorist. Her scientific interest in colour, hair and cosmetics quickly elevated her to the status of a leading artist in Australia. After a few years, the Glow Up judge moved to London to work on popular Alexander McQueen shows, celebrity photo shoots with Kate Moss and magazine collaborations with Vogue, Dazed & Confused, iD and Visionaire.

Garland was named Pantene Pro-V Makeup Artist of the Year in 2004 and in 2017 she was named L’Oréal Paris’ first Global Makeup Director. Confirmed, the makeup artist has also created an anthology that highlights her work through a collection of iconic photographs.
2) Dominic Skinner
Dominic, Senior Global Artist at MAC Cosmetics, has been in the beauty industry for almost 20 years. His biggest influence in the field of cosmetics was the character Daryl Hannah Pris in Blade Runner, who applied color to his eyes. He constantly encourages his clients to experiment with potent cosmetics. Dominic shared his makeup inspiration on his official MAC page. He declared:
“Although I’ve traveled a lot, I don’t necessarily go anywhere specifically for inspiration,” she says.
He also stated:
“I find that ideas are all around me; It’s just a matter of finding things that others might have missed.”
Over the years, Skinner has collaborated with many well-known figures in the industry. Also, after many years at MAC, Glow Up judge’s most memorable experience was assisting Alex Box in a magazine photo shoot directed by Alexander McQueen.
