Tom Stoltman is a British weightlifter and athlete. Tom Stoltman is the winner of the “World’s Strongest Man 2021” contest, making him the first Scot to do so. He was also runner-up in the 2020 competition.
Early life and childhood
Tom Stoltman was born on May 30, 1994, in Invergordon, Scotland. He is 29 years and is under the astrological sign of Gemini. He has British nationality.
His father’s name is Ben and his mother’s name is Sheila. She also has an older brother named Luke. Her brother is also a weightlifter and her partner is a strongman competitor. He also has three other brothers, but so far all of his names are unknown.
His younger brother, Harry, works for the Stoltman brothers’ business and is currently training to compete in a strongman competition. Sadly, his mother passed away when she was 56 years old in 2016. Regarding Stoltman’s educational background and qualifications, he attended Newmore Primary School and Invergordon Academy in the Scottish Highlands, where he developed his passion for playing football. Because of this passion, he was invited to Ross County and the young Rangers prepared for trials.
Additionally, he was inspired by his brother’s success as the strongest man in Scotland. He then turned his attention to weight training at the local gym when he was 16 years old. And, within a year, he was showing such potential that Luke decided to take him under his wing and guide him through strongman training.
Career and professional life
Tom Stoltman was able to enter and win his first competition, “Highlands Strongest Man” when he was 18 years old. This was then followed by success in qualifying for Scotland’s Strongest Man (SSM), where he subsequently placed fifth in the main event.
In 2015, he was able to reach the SSM podium, finishing second behind his older brother Luke the next three years in a row. But it was 2017 when he had a decisive year. He was able to place second in the UK’s Strongest Man competition and place sixth in Britain’s Strongest Man.
He even got an invite to his first World’s Strongest Man event, but dropped out after the first two events. Tom also took his first SSM win and finished 8th at the World’s Ultimate Strongman in Dubai in 2018.

Likewise, he had a great performance, taking fifth place in the World’s Strongest Man and third place in the World’s Ultimate Strongman in 2019. He also achieved his second victory in SSM and achieved a podium in BSM.
Then in 2020, he was able to return to the World’s Strongest Man finals in Florida, finishing in second place despite a challenging Hercules Hold event. That year he also took second place in BSM. And he broke the world record with Castle Stones’ Giants Live light set.
Tom Stoltman became the World’s Strongest Man in Sacramento, California in the year 2021. He was also able to win two events and participate in the final event ahead of Brian Shaw. He achieved victory by completing the Atlas Stone race in record time, bringing the title to Scotland for the first time, and also won Britain’s Strongest Man award.
Furthermore, Stoltman defended his BSM title in Sheffield, England in the year 2022. And, at World’s Strongest Man, he was able to dominate his series, winning the first 4 events.
Furthermore, in the final he faced three former champions and won by 10.5 points, becoming the second Briton to win two titles and the first to win in a row. He placed second in WSM and won the Hummer Deadlift event lifting 499 kg in 2023.

Tom Stoltman along with his brother, Luke Stoltman, opened “The Stoltman Strength Center” in Invergordon in the year 2018. It was originally a joint venture but is now wholly owned by Stoltman Brothers Ltd. They mainly train there and recently partnered with Primal for an upgrade, making it a state-of-the-art facility.
Additionally, as the Stoltman brothers gained popularity, they began selling their own brand products online. Initially featuring images of the brothers, it now includes Stoltman-branded everyday lifestyle clothing, motivational clothing featuring their values and quotes, and even collaborations with other strongmen. The brother even set up his strength training academy in the year 2022.
Additionally, they also have a YouTube channel where they share their training and competition videos, take on challenges, and give viewers an insight into the lives of professional strongmen. They often collaborate with popular health and fitness personalities such as Eddie Hall, Matt Does Fitness, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson and Larry Wheels.
Furthermore, they even published an autobiographical book, “Lifting: Becoming the World’s Strongest Brothers”, in the year 2023. The brothers are also featured and narrated in the book “The Red On Revolution” by trainer Mike Chadwick, published in 2022.
