From 1968 to 1980, he coached offensive lines at many institutions, including Ashland, Cincinnati, Kentucky and Kenn State University. Ron later began his NFL career as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1982. Additionally, he was the offensive line coach for the Indianapolis Colts from 1992-1997.
