Another TLC couple is quitting.
Welcome to Plathville Stars Ethan and Olivia Plath have announced that they have separated after five years of marriage.
“Olivia and I have broken up,” Ethan shared on Instagram. “It just didn’t work out between us, even though God knows we both gave it everything we had. It seemed like we were constantly pulling each other in opposite directions in life with different goals.”
“I wish Olivia the best for the future that awaits her. I care for her deeply and always will,” she added.

In her own post, Olivia opened up a bit more and also wished the best for Ethan.
“Ethan and I have decided to go our separate ways,” she said. “I have ambivalent memories of when we were 18 years old, we innocently dreamed of eternity, but the partner you choose is a reflection of the world you want to live in, and at 18 I didn’t know who I was or what kind of life. I wanted to create for myself. 7 years later, I have already begun my journey of questioning, deconstructing and reconstructing and I know that it is a process that I will continue to prioritize throughout my life.”
“There were good times and I want to remember and honor them,” he continued. “We fell in love as children and go our separate ways as adults. Wiser, older and braver. We will be fine. Thanks for the good times, Ethan. Wish you all the best.”
Ethan and Olivia’s relationship is currently developing in the final season of Welcome to Plathvillewhich airs on TLC on Tuesday nights.
In this season’s synopsis, TLC teased, “The fundamental differences in family values between Ethan and Olivia come to a head.”
