with the classic Bad Girls Getting new life with a reboot, Tina Fey opens up about the original cast. Fey revealed that she had planned to bring back the original cast somehow, but she couldn’t make it work.
Speaking with The New York Times, Fey said the actor’s schedules prevented them from acting in the film. Fey said they never got to the point where they actively discussed what roles the original actors could have played.
“We’ll never know,” Fey said. “They’re busy people, so it didn’t turn out well, but we tried and we all loved each other.”
Fey reprises her role in the film and also wrote the script. She talked about returning to work.
“I have other things I would like to do. But I am very grateful that this film seemed to stick with people,” she told the Times. “When I look at it, I remember how hard I worked on it in the first place. I feel like bricks and mortar was the best possible work I was capable of at the time. “It’s not perfect, but it retains water.”
Fey expressed that she did not have much interest in making a sequel to the original. He said being young and in high school was key to the original. He didn’t believe the concept could really work in adulthood.
“For me, part of the reason why there is so much at stake in the story is because we are all so young and the feelings are huge, the love is huge and the friendship is huge in a way. [that it isn’t with] middle-aged moms. “I love writing about middle-aged people, but I don’t know,” he told the outlet.
‘Mean Girls’ reunion not in the works
Rachel McAdams, who originally played Regina George, confirmed to Variety that they couldn’t make the schedule work.
“tub [Fey] And I kind of tried out some ideas, but in the end it was difficult to make it all work,” he said. McAdams also talked about not reuniting with her castmates for a Walmart commercial.
“I guess I wasn’t that excited about doing a commercial if I’m totally honest. I’ve never done commercials and it just didn’t feel like my bag,” McAdams said, confirming that he “didn’t know everyone” was coming back. “Of course, I would always love to be part of a Bad Girls meet and hang out with my Plastics. But yeah, I found out later.”
