Temperatures remained below freezing during the two days in question. The family of the deceased demands a thorough investigation into their deaths. They blame the homeowner for not cooperating with efforts to find the three deceased Kansas City Chief fans.

“This man was alive inside his house while my friends were dead in his yard for God knows how long,” Kaylee La Tier wrote in a Facebook post earlier this month. “Everyone was together since after the game on Sunday. I KNEW people were looking for them. He read messages from people looking for him on Tuesday.”

According to La Tier, the owner refused to open the door when people showed up to look for him, even after they broke a window. However, John Picerno, the owner’s attorney, said his client was asleep with headphones on when they visited. He also didn’t find it strange that his friends left his car.

“Just like the rest of us, [the homeowner] He is anxiously awaiting the results of the autopsy and the toxicology report,” Picerno told the Kansas City Star. “On behalf of [the homeowner] and their family, we wish to express our deepest condolences to the friends and family of these young people, and our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
