Over the years, these films have brought laughter and comfort to the millions of fans who adore them, while also introducing some iconic characters. Pixar has a whole roster of recognizable characters waiting to be remade into Halloween costumes.
Looking for Nemo is Pixar’s fifth animated film and was released in 2003 to critical acclaim. The film tells the story of a nervous clownfish named Marlin, with the help of a forgetful fish named Dory, must brave the sea to find his missing son. Nemo finds himself imprisoned in an aquarium at the dentist’s office when he gets lost and learns of his unlucky fate from the rest of the tank crew. The dentist has a niece named Dara, a young girl who doesn’t care about her pet’s life, and he plans to give little Nemo as a gift. Nemo and the other tank crew devise an escape plan to save Nemo’s life and reunite with his father.
This Halloween costume perfectly depicts what would happen if Nemo didn’t escape Darla’s grasp. Jesse Purdjujarvi, an NHL player, showed off her signature Darla outfit, complete with a tiara and messy braids. Puljujärvi is trapped in Darla’s fish bag along with another man dressed as Nemo. Finding Nemo is still one of Pixar’s best works
While Pixar has produced many successful films over the years, Looking for Nemo outstanding. The film’s touching message about finding family and overcoming personal limitations still resonates with audiences today. Her character delivers much-needed humor in the film’s darker parts and is at the emotional center of Marin’s journey.
