Theodore Barrett’s 2008 video continues to attract much media attention. On March 20, 2008, Onion’s YouTube channel posted a 2 minute 19 second video.

Theodore appeared in the video to engage reporters in a conversation about the president’s goals. He arrived on time and immediately apologized for being late, saying that his wife had just passed away. Barret then went straight to the agenda.

Barrett asked a reporter after informing the president of his goals because he wanted to hear them. The initial attempt was to learn more about Barrett’s wife’s death. But Barrett avoids the subject because he doesn’t want to talk about it.

Barret was asked about his wife again after asking someone else. One conference reporter noted, “Janie is a truly amazing woman.”

When another person followed suit, Barrett continued as usual and explained that the woman had died in a car crash. Another reporter asked if he could help, and Barrett replied that cards and flowers could be delivered to the office.

Theodore Barrett didn’t want to talk much about his wife’s death in public, but he did inform the media about her death. Above all, he was focused on his mission, not concerned with the critical situation. Finally, Barrett answered the reporter’s question and gave an update on his children, Megan and Bobby.

According to Barrett, the children were in the car with their mother. All were involved in the collision. The children were then taken to Georgetown University Hospital.
