Katie’s collaborations with established social media stars sparked her exponential growth on TikTok.
Katie was born on August 2, 2002 in the United States. She grew up with a sister and a brother. Sigmond gained a few thousand followers on TikTok during her time in high school, but she had no plans to become a social media star. However, signing up for online classes gave her more time to focus on TikTok.
Like most TikTok stars, Katie only needed one viral video to blow up. The first viral video of hers garnered more than 11 million views and earned her more than half a million followers. Sigmond capitalized on her fame overnight by collaborating with established TikTok stars. She said The Sync Podcast which collaborations sent their followers and audience numbers into the millions:
“I feel like I’ve been collaborating more when I’ve been in Los Angeles now. When a video blows up and you keep posting it constantly, more videos start coming out, and then if you start posting bad content, it starts to go back and it becomes harder to blow up because you need that video to propel you.”
Katie was briefly a member of the influencer collective known as Clubhouse. She said The Sync Podcast which gained viewership in Los Angeles due to its association with Clubhouse, but the collective did not increase its growth rate. Sigmond’s did not sign a management agreement with the group and therefore did not benefit from being a member of the Clubhouse as much as other influential people.
Sigmond is doing very well as a social media star, but her dream is to become a fitness model. Fitness is a big part of Katie’s life. She initially wanted to create a fitness channel on TikTok, but she realized that she needed to follow trends if she wanted to gain a following. Sigmond spoke with The Sync Podcast on how the quarantine affected his exercise routine:
“For four years in a row I was in powerlifting. Last year before quarantine I was obsessed with weight lifting because I had just broken up with my boyfriend. I really wanted to get in shape. The quarantine passed and they closed my gym and I thought: ‘I could work at home’. And then I got demotivated because I couldn’t lift heavy weights at home.”
Katie is currently single and claims she would never get back together with any of her exes.
Katie has faced dating rumors with content creators like Jeremy Hutchins, but she dismissed those rumors during her June Q&A. Sigmond also gave insight into her past love life. She detailed two high school relationships, stating that they were good while they lasted, but that she would not get back together with any of her exes. She said:
“I would definitely not want to go back to those people because we realized that we are better off not together. The two people I dated in high school were nice people, but I definitely wouldn’t reconsider dating them because we broke up for a reason. I feel like if we ever dated again, it would end the same way.”
