Part 1 – From Enemies To Friends
It’s easy to forget that Damon wasn’t always deeply in love with Elena, and more than once when they first met he was willing to let her die. All he cares about is getting Catherine out of the grave, but everything changes when he realizes that Catherine has long since been freed.
As the season progresses, Elena and Damon begin to bond, and when Stefan becomes addicted to human blood, they team up to save him. They developed a strong friendship, and Damon even kissed Catherine at the end of the season, thinking it was Elena.
Part 2 – Damon’s Unrequited Love
Damon’s feelings for Elena become apparent in season two when he admits that he is in love with his brother’s girlfriend. Elena doesn’t respond, Damon strangles Jeremy after she rejects him, and their friendship abruptly ends.
Damon is determined to regain Elena’s trust, and he succeeds. Damon is still Damon, which means he keeps lashing out when things don’t go his way, but Elena forgave him and kissed him as he neared death in the finale.
Part 3 – Elena loves Damon (but chooses Stefan)
Part 3 is when Damon and Elena have a chance to shine. After Stefan is forced to leave Mystic Falls to help Klaus create his hybrid, Damon and Elena do everything in their power to save him. But at a certain point, all hope seemed lost, and the two of them began to feel comfortable in the new relationship they formed in his absence.
The relationship they develop feels like a betrayal for Stefan, and Elena continues to try to suppress her feelings for his brother. Just as Stefan begins to return to his true selves, they finally come into full view. Despite everything that happened between Damon and Elena, Elena chose to be with Stefan before he drowned under Wickrey Bridge.
Part 4 – His Majesty’s relationship complicates things
in the first minute Diary of a vampire In season 4, Elena finds out that she died with Damon’s blood in her veins. Not only is this episode refreshing, but it’s also important to show Damon’s unconditional love for Elena. As a vampire, Elena becomes very different and she leaves Stefan for his brother. But the show never gave the fans what they wanted, and after they slept together, viewers discovered that Elena was Damon’s father.
It wasn’t hard for Damon to begin to doubt Elena’s love for him, as he thought it was too good to be true. After Jeremy’s death, Elena’s feelings disappeared, what was real and what wasn’t became ever more blurred. It was not until the end of the season that everything was revealed. In a fan-favorite scene, Elena confesses her love for Damon after the relationship between the two fathers finally fell apart. Their kiss in front of the fireplace remains one of the show’s best moments, bringing the love triangle to an end.
Part 5 – It’s Officially a Pair (On and Off)
After years of accumulation, Damon and Elena are in Diary of a vampire Season 5. It’s a whole new world for them and while it’s weird that they still end up together, it’s also very natural.
But no matter how much they love each other, things will not go well for Damon and Elena. They tried to break up for various reasons, but never got over it. The two always find a way to get back together, and not even Damon’s death can separate them.
Part 6 – Damon is presumed dead, Elena has her memory erased
Elena, grieving the loss of Damon, made Lucas feel guilty for giving her the special herb to make him hallucinate. One day, when this still wasn’t enough, Elena begged Alaric to dispel her love for Damon. As everyone knows, neither Damon nor Bonnie died, they were actually trapped in a prison world.
Damon and Elena’s reunion might not be what fans expected, but their entire plot is testament to how strong their love is. Elena only remembered the bad things Damon had done, but she still couldn’t shake him. It took a while, but Elena fell in love with Damon again.
Part 7 – Elena in a supernatural coma
Since Nina Dobrev decided to withdraw from the series, all of Elena Diary of a vampire Part 7 in a supernatural coma. Her life is tied to Bonnie, and as long as Bonnie is alive, Elena won’t be able to wake up.
Audiences would never have met Damon without Elena’s guidance, and the film wouldn’t be as good without the central couple. Between Damon thinking he burned Elena’s body and he’s having sex with someone else, it’s been a rough season for delivery man Delena.
Part 8 – Damon and Elena live happily ever after as humans
Elena only appeared in the final few minutes of the series’ finale, but she played a huge role throughout the final season. Sybil manipulated Damon’s memory to make him forget everything about Elena. But Damon’s love for her is something that can never be erased because it is too strong to be faked.
When Bonnie breaks the spell and awakens Elena, she and Damon reunite. Together they drank the antidote and became human together, which Elena had always wanted. Fast forward to Damon and Elena holding hands in the afterlife, fans ecstatic when they see the wedding ring on her finger.
