Spider-Man fans can probably name most of the big villains Spider-Man has encountered over the years, but Spider-Man still has a few surprises: like his sister Teresa Parker. A little known fact is that Peter Parker has a legal sister. She’ll be back soon, so now’s a good time to revisit who she really is.
Teresa Parker first appeared in the original graphic novel, Super Spider-Man: Family Business Step back in time to 2013. Written by Mark Wade and James Robinson and illustrated by Gabriele del Alto and Vette del Edra, this story makes new waves in the Parker family history. When the hero is attacked by armed gunmen in his apartment, Teresa appears — not as Spider-Man, but as Peter Parker. They attempt to kidnap him, but he escapes, pointing to a car driven by Teresa, who picks him up and reveals that she is his sister.
At the end of the graphic novel, Kingpin claims that he used Mentalo’s abilities to convince Teresa that she was Parker. He also adjusts Peter’s thinking to believe that Teresa looks a lot like him. Here, it is revealed that Teresa’s last name is Durand. Peter decides that he’d rather have a sister, and even though they’re not related by blood, they could still be siblings – but that doesn’t end Teresa’s identity issues.

She faces danger just like her brother, but in a way devoid of his moral qualities. Teresa doesn’t mind causing some casualties if she gets the job done, which is known to cause conflict when fighting alongside Peter. She was last seen on Nick Spencer’s ultimate Spiderman – Especially with the Symkarian Conspiracy arc. She had an affair with her spy partner, who was captured, tortured, and eventually killed by Chameleon. She spends most of her time chasing him, but she still hasn’t finished him.
