Marvel has released an infographic detailing the official timeline of the Power Stone, which is one of the most sought-after cosmic items in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Power Stone is one of the six Infinity Stones, and they consist of immensely powerful gems that come from six singularities that control essential aspects of existence. Those six aspects include Space, Mind, Reality, Time, Soul, and of course, Power. When the Power Stone is found in the wrong hands, it is capable of massive destruction, such as destroying entire planets. This Infinity Stone is visually most recognized for its distinctive purple-like appearance.
The Power Stone made its first on-screen appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy but has existed in the MCU canon far before the events depicted in the 2014 film. However, it was the first Marvel Studios film to showcase the scope of the Power Stone’s destructive potential thanks to the villainous character of Ronan. The ensuing MCU films later released introduced viewers to more of that Infinity Stone’s complicated and epic history.
The official Instagram page for Marvel Entertainment UK posted a series of images that provide a detailed timeline sequence of events for the Power Stone. The infographic charts the comic item’s journey starting with its creation, along with that of the other five Infinity Stones. It then illustrates the Power Stone’s path throughout various MCU films and names specific Marvel characters and locations within each event in the timeline. The series of images can be viewed below.
MCU fans will be pleased to discover that several incidents and plot points from the various MCU Phases are confirmed or made clear due to the official timeline. This is especially relevant due to the amount of time travel featured throughout Avengers: Endgame involving the Infinity Stones. For example, the timeline confirms Captain America returned the Power Stone to the planet of Morag before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy. We can now see a clear trajectory for the overall whereabouts of the Power Stone and its wielders, from Celestial Eson the Searcher to its eventual wielder Tony Stark, who used it as part of the Infinity Gauntlet. It even includes a brief mention at the end regarding Infinity Stones being used as paperweights in Disney+s Loki.
Given the many films and MCU events that either feature or mention the Power Stone, the infographic is a handy tool for understanding the significance and implication of the Power Stone’s existence. However, the timeline will likely need to be updated in the years to come if more MCU films and TV shows include the Power Stone in some form. But for the time being, Marvel has provided fans everywhere with a resource that will help them understand the history of an essential Infinity Stone and how it ties into their favorite MCU projects.
