What can we expect from the second season of Tell Me Lies?
The sequel “takes place over a period of eight years,” according to the description. According to the summary:
“When Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco met in college, they were at a formative age when seemingly petty decisions lead to irreversible consequences.”
It goes on to state that although their relationship may seem like “any normal college romance” at first, “they quickly fall into an addictive relationship that will affect irreversible effect on not only their lives but also the lives of those around them.” Carole Lovering’s 2018 novel was the inspiration for the series. According to Goodreads, the book is:
One reviewer said: “A thrilling, gripping coming-of-age thriller about toxic love, bloodthirsty ambition and startling betrayal. Tell Me Lies is about another person who still haunts you. The incorrect one. The one you can’t shake. You’ll never forget it.”
Van Patten talks about the first season finale.
In the ending of the first season, Lucy learns that Stephen is engaged to her old best friend Lydia (Natalee Linez). Van Patten explained the surprising turn in an interview with Screen Rant:
“I asked myself, why? Could he be worse at this point? I don’t know what happened or what happened. But it’s all screwed up!”
To stay calm, the actress hopes Lucy will end her relationship with Stephen, but realizes that’s not possible as the drama has to go on. However, she did hint at what will happen in the second season. She continued:
“It seemed like the perfect time for him (Stephen) to get back into her (Lucy) life because she seemed to have had it all together.” Max is with her. She picked a nice, stable guy… he lives in LA and has a solid career, and of course, that’s only when he comes back, but I hope Lucy lasts a while. time.”
