‘Superman’ Candidate Tom Brittney Sends Love to Fans After Losing Role to David Corenswet

Tom Brittney is sending a message to fans after losing out on the role of Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming movie Superman: Legacy.

The 32-year-old British actor was one of three actors who were brought in by Warner Bros. to do a screen test for the upcoming DC Comics superhero movie.

James Gunn is directing the film as the first big project of his new DC universe.

The role ended up going to The Politician and Hollywood actor David Corenswet.

Tom took to his Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon (June 27) and simply tweeted out a heart emoji, “❤️.” He clearly was responding to all of the fans who sent him love after missing out on the coveted role.

Tom is best known for his roles in the TV shows Grantchester, UnREAL, and Outlander, as well as films like Greyhound.

Three actors are rumored to be in the running to play Lex Luthor.
