Steve Fletcher Repair Shop

Steve Fletcher is a specialist on the prestigious BBC One restoration programme The Repair Shop. In addition to his sister Suzie Fletcher, Jay Blades, the host of The Repair Shop, Will Kirk, Dominic Chinea, Brenton West, and Kirsten Ramsay, he debuted on the programme in 2017. He explained to the BBC how Steve ended up on the Repair Shop as follows:

“In 2016, a firm I had never heard of sent me an email asking if I would be interested in participating in a brand-new show. I was about to delete it because I don’t trust anything I find online, but my partner Mel stopped me by saying everything appears to be fine.

“I replied, and a short while later, Shane called to tell me about the show. I then decided to participate.

I initially worked for two weeks, but after proving that I could fix the majority of little mechanical faults, I was requested to work longer hours and eventually joined the core crew.

When asked what he enjoys the most about working on the Repair Shop, Steve responded, “There are so many wonderful things about working in the Repair Shop. We all get along incredibly well and like working with one another so much. We never know exactly what will arrive or how challenging the repair challenge might be.

“I have gained a lot of knowledge from other specialists who are always happy to share it with me.

The finest part of working in the Repair Shop is watching people’s reactions to their changed items, which range from delight to genuine, intense emotion.
