Season 3 of South Side will premiere on HBO Max on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 3:01 a.m. ET. The sitcom’s final season ended on November 25, 2021, and fans have been waiting for news of a sequel ever since. The film stars some excellent actors in the lead roles, including Sultan Salahuddin, Bashir Salahuddin and Kareme Young, among others. Bashir and Diallo Riddle direct the show.

On November 29, 2022, HBO Max released the official trailer for South Side Season 3, which briefly revealed many interesting details that could potentially happen in the new season. And this season, like last season, promises to be interesting, as the rest of the cast seems to be at their peak. The trailer is almost 2 minutes long but doesn’t reveal too much important plot information that could ruin the viewing experience of viewers. Overall, the trailer maintains the very humorous tone of the series that fans are familiar with and viewers will have a good laugh. According to WarnerMedia’s Press Room, the official synopsis of the show is as follows:
“SOUTH SIDE follows two friends who recently graduated from community college and aspire to take over the world, but are stuck working at Rent-T-Own until they can. The show was shot on location in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, providing a real insight into life on the South Side.”
Few facts about the next season have been released. Bashir Salahuddin told the Chicago Tribune in an interview:
“Section 3 is going to be a real hit. We’ve got everything from Christopher Nolan movie tributes to Kwanzaa’s first special day. I’m happy about that because I’m celebrating Kwanzaa, and it’s both fun and respectful of the celebration.”
Season 3 will also feature the return of the cast of Chance the Rapper, who plays Herbert, as well as some new appearances.

Sultan Salahuddin plays the role of Simon James in the popular comedy series. Salahuddin looks absolutely epic in the show’s trailer and shows off his exceptional sense of humour, which has contributed in no small measure to the show’s popularity and success. Fans can expect the actor to deliver another thrilling performance. During the first two seasons of the show, Sultan Salahuddin received excellent feedback for his performance. Outside of the South Side, the actor is best known for starring in Black-ish, where he played Dr. Wilkins in one episode.
Officer Goodnight is played by Sultan Salahuddin’s brother, Bashir Salahuddin. Bashir, one of the show’s writers and executive producers, also excelled in the episode and showcased his great comedic timing. Other major film and TV credits to Bashir include Cryano, The 24th, Top Gun: Maverick, and many more.
