Challenge: Ride or Die is expected to emphasize close relationships and bring individuals together, even ex-lovers. Several exes teaming up to win a million dollars is one of the teams battling it out in a rigorous tournament. The pair are star Nelson Thomas, who will face off against his ex-girlfriend, social media celebrity Nurys Mateo.
According to MTV’s press release about the show:
“For the first time, the critically acclaimed competitive franchise will reunite their ‘Ride or Die’ cast, which includes a cast of close friends, exes and partners as they go through battle. mentally and physically every week for his share. million dollars.”

Meet Nelson and Nurys as they prepare to show the world what they’re capable of.
We’ll tackle the age-old theme of comrades-in-arms in the upcoming Challenge season. Reality TV stars Nelson and Nurys are ready to show the world that you can still be friends after a breakup by competing together for a chance to win $1 million.
Nurys is one of the rookie contestants who have never been on the show before, along with other reality TV personalities like Tommy Bracc and Analyze Talavera, who have appeared on Big Brother before. While Nurys never had any experience with the Challenge, she’s been on enough reality shows to know how to make it to the top. The 27-year-old model and athlete has appeared in MTV series such as Are You The One and Ex on the Beach, where she appeared alongside Nelson herself.
According to her MTV bio:
“Nurys and her Ride or Die Nelson have briefly dated in the past, but their friendship only grows stronger and Nurys is willing to break the curse of Nelson’s Daily Challenge, as well as the same he goes to the final victory first, and of course, her own.”
Her ex-boyfriend and teammate, Nelson Thomas, made up for her lack of program expertise. Nelson has yet to win a single season, although he has come close several times. Nelson has total confidence in his partner and in their first video he says her looks shouldn’t fool anyone because she’s very “picky”.
They have a great bond and have nothing but positive things to say about each other. Nurys describes Nelson as a “massive source of energy” if she wanted to describe him in one word. Nelson went on to say that she’s “undeniably” and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Having gone through so much together, the two thought they would die for each other.
Nurys went on to say:
“We’ve gone from dating or whatever to not talking to being friends and wondering if we could ever be friends — to now being great friends, great partners. great work in this game.”
They talk about each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and she says that Nelson’s greatest strength is his social game, which everyone loves. She added that his biggest weakness is swimming. Nelson says that Nurysa’s greatest strength is her ability to regulate her emotions, and her biggest weakness is her unwillingness to commit.
