Three children were raised by Silas Duane Boston, a former Sacramento, California, resident. He was taken into custody on December 16, 2016, in a rehab facility in Paradise for the murders of Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton. The couple was from Manchester, and between June and July of 1978, they were killed at sea.
The 75-year-old Silas was detained by the FBI following a long investigation, according to an ABC 10 story. He was then accused of killing the English couple, whose bodies were discovered by fisherman on July 8, 1978, about 200 yards off the coast in Punta de Manabique, Guatemala. Before being dumped into the ocean, both individuals underwent torture and were bound to large engine components.
According to reports, Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton started sailing with Silas Duane Boston and his two boys, Vince and Russell, while they were supposedly halfway around the world. The pair never arrived at their goal as they were sailing from Belize to Honduras. A private detective informed their families of their demise many months later.
According to the publication, Silas’ two kids claimed that their father relocated them from Sacramento to Belize in an effort to avoid being charged with statutory r*pe. They added that they had met Chis and Peta while on one of their father’s illicit boat tours for visitors.
Vince and Russell, who were 13 and 11 years old, respectively, acknowledged seeing the killings in 1978. According to The Cinemaholic, Chris allegedly intervened while Silas was abusing the boys and the two engaged in combat. Their father “snapped and tried to swing at Chris, but he ducked, and Dad fell into the water.” during the argument.
Following this, Silas began plotting out of humiliation and attacked the pair with a wooden truncheon. Before stripping them naked, placing plastic bags over their heads, and binding heavy engine parts to their bodies before tossing them overboard into the deep Caribbean Sea, he even wounded Chris with a fillet knife.
Detectives also believed Silas was responsible for his wife Mary Lou’s disappearance in 1968. According to The Cinemaholic, Vince Boston remembered his grandmother telling them that she didn’t want to lie any longer and said that “your mother is never coming back.”
Silas apparently shot Mary to death because she wanted to get a divorce, which is why he did.
Sadly, Silas Duane Boston passed away on April 24, 2017, at a hospital, preventing his prosecution for his crimes. According to reports, the accused exercised his right to stop receiving medical care, and as a result, he died.
