Mae Martin Career
In Canada, Martin began her professional career as a member of the comedy troupe “The Young and the Useless.” She worked at The Second City comedy club’s box office and did stand-up comedy. Martin was the youngest-ever nominee for the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award at the age of 16. Baroness von Sketch Show, a Canadian sketch comedy program, has included Martin’s writing. Martin moved to London in 2011 in quest of a fresh start. After falling in love with the city, he spent some time working at dead-end jobs before deciding to focus on getting into British comedy.
The BBC Radio 4 program Mae Martin’s Guide to 21st Century Sexuality was based on her 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festival show Mae Martin: Us. She appeared in LOL: Last One Laughing Canada in 2022. Later that year, she portrayed Grace Saint in the HBO Max series The Flight Attendant. Martin and writing partner Hampson are also collaborating on two further ideas in addition to Gene, a romantic comedy, and Gene, a thriller.

Martin is dating famed actor, author, and filmmaker Elliot Page. He later admitted that despite being transsexual his entire life, he was born a woman.
He has received nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award, the Satellite Award, and the Academy Award in addition to winning the BAFTA award and the Canadian Academy Award. Martin and Page were close friends for fifteen years before deciding to date. They were 19 years old and were having a drink in a bar.
As they talked, they quickly realized that they both enjoyed humor, books, and movies, which sparked their friendship. They weren’t dating at the time; they were just good friends. For their fifteen years of friendship, they have always supported one another’s sexual orientation. They both declared their intent to support one another in 2021 after deciding to change their sexual orientations.
Due to the fact that they later started admiring one another on social media and even got matching tattoos, many admirers believe that to be the start of their romantic relationship. Even though they haven’t admitted to dating, the pair remains close. They also promote each other’s comedies and novels on social media almost every day.
