Siddharth Roy Kapur is an Indian film producer. He is the founder and MD of Roy Kapur Films and president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India. He is the husband of Bollywood actress Vidya Balan.

Siddharth Roy Kapur was born on Friday, 2 August 1975 (age 49 years; as of 2023) in Bombay (now, Mumbai). His zodiac sign is Leo. He did his schooling from GD Somani Memorial School, Mumbai and went to Sydenham College to pursue B.Com. He was good in studies during his school days and he was the head boy of his school. While in college, Siddhartha led the Dramatics Society and edited the annual college magazine. During his college days, he did a summer internship with Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV. After completing his graduation, Kapoor did his master’s in management studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai.

Siddharth Roy Kapur started his career as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble Company in Mumbai. Subsequently, he joined the strategic planning division of Star TV. Subsequently, he moved to Hong Kong for Star TV’s Newscorp Executive Development Programme. Subsequently, he moved to Mumbai and worked on the marketing of the game reality show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”. Then, he worked as a regional marketing manager for the network. In 2002, he moved to Hong Kong again and a year later he was promoted to Vice President. He was the youngest Vice President of Star TV at that time. At the Hong Kong headquarters, Kapoor led the Central Marketing and Creative Services team.
In 2005, he was offered to join UTV as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, which he immediately accepted. While working at UTV, Siddharth headed the marketing panels of various films including “Rang De Basanti” and “Khosla Ka Ghosla”.
In January 2008, Kapoor took over as CEO of UTV Motion Pictures. He was responsible for all aspects of development, production, marketing, distribution and syndication. Under his leadership, they produced some of the most successful films of the decade, including “Taare Zameen Par,” “Jodha Akbar,” “Fashion,” “Paan Singh Tomar,” “Kai Po Che,” “The Lunchbox,” and Are. “Chennai Express.” In 2014, he was promoted to Managing Director of Disney India.
In 2017, Siddharth resigned from Disney and set up his own production house, “Roy Kapur Films”. His first film of production was “The Sky Is Pink”. He has also produced the Netflix series “Ya Ballet”.

- His hobbies include reading, traveling and watching movies.
- Siddharth was fond of films in his childhood. He told in an interview that his grandparents lived near the Strand Cinema in Mumbai and he used to insist his grandparents and mother to watch films. He also revealed that he would often force his parents to buy tickets in black for him.
- In 1994, Siddharth interned under Ronnie Screwvala in a small production house in a basement in Worli, Mumbai. During that period, he earned Rs. Rs 2000 for a month.
- Siddharth’s first meeting with Vidya Balan was during a Filmfare Awards function. It was filmmaker Karan Johar who introduced the two.
