Shakira, a Colombian singer, has released a new song featuring Ozuna, a Puerto Rican singer. The song is called Monotonia, and it seems to be about a broken heart. The Hips Don’t Lie singer previewed the song multiple times on social media, getting fans excited about her debut. The Grammy Award-winning singer has announced that the song from her 11th studio album will be released on October 19.
Ozuna responded to Shakira’s Instagram post:
“A small king with a mighty dynasty.” Translated, it means “little king with a magnificent queen”.
The singer admitted to her divorce from Spanish player Gerard Pique last month, and said she was going through the hardest and darkest time of her life. She teased the new lyrics on Instagram, writing:
“It’s not your fault/It’s not my fault/It’s monotony’s fault,” (“It’s not your fault/It’s not my fault/It’s monotony’s fault) .”)
Viewers can witness the trampling of hearts in a short video she posted online. The title of the article reads:
“I didn’t say anything, but it hurt me.” “I knew it was going to happen.”
Many people think that the caption refers to the player breaking the female singer’s heart. Monotonia’s cover photo shows a knife through the heart.

Shakira claims that her songs are influenced by personal experience.
Monotonia is Shakira’s follow-up to the April song Te Felicito featuring Rau Alejandro. The singer praised her ex in Te Felicito as the leading actor in their relationship. Her former lover, Gerard Pique, has been accused of cheating in sex. In an interview with Elle, the singer said her lyrics were influenced by personal experience.
She stated the following:
“I can only say that everything I feel, everything I go through is reflected in the songs I write, in the videos I produce, whether consciously or unconsciously.” When gloves match, gloves match. Like I said before, my music is that channel.”
Shakira, who has been married to Pique for 12 years and has two children with him, told the magazine:
“It’s not only difficult for me but also for my children.” Extremely challenging. I try to keep that matter as hidden from them as possible. It is especially difficult for two children who are still going through their parents’ divorce proceedings. And sometimes I just feel like I’m having a terrible dream and I’m going to wake up at some point.”
She went on to say:
“No matter how it ends or how Gerard and I feel about each other as ex-partners, he’s still the father of my children.” We have a mission for these two remarkable guys. And I’m sure we’ll determine what’s best for their future, their own life goals, and what’s a fair solution for everyone involved.”
