In 2016, Sagar Parekh made his television debut with an episodic role in the crime thriller TV series Gumrah – End of Innocence. After Gumrah, he appeared as a lead role in the TV series Ae Zindagi on Zing channel. He appeared in two episodes of the show.

In July 2022, Sagar Parekh replaced Paras Kalnawat in the television serial Anupama when he started playing the role of Samar Shah in the show. In December 2023, she left the show after the death of her character Sehmar Shah in the serial. In an interview, Sagar revealed that he was not aware of Anupama before joining the cast. He said,
It feels like a dream. I never thought that I would be a part of Anupama. When I was offered the role, I had no idea that I was playing the role of Anupama and that I was playing a replacement role. If I had known then I would have disagreed to take up this show due to insecurities or maybe people would not have accepted me. But I’m glad it happened and they didn’t tell me earlier.”

My dad was also supportive and was ready to take the risk of sending me to Mumbai. This experience changed my life. I really enjoyed working on the show.”
