RJ Malishka started her career in the advertising industry. He interned under Indian advertising film director Prahlad Kakkar, but did not find the field so interesting. After this he did voice-over in Hindi for Discovery Channel. He started his career as a radio jockey with “WIN 94.6 FM” and worked with them for two years. Later, she joined Rediff Radio for seven months and then started working with Red FM.

He has hosted popular radio shows like Morning No. 1, Best Breakfast Program and M Bole Toh. In 2013, she contested the popular dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a wild card entrant, but was eliminated in the 9th week.

She became an actress with the 2017 Bollywood film “Tumhari Sulu” starring Vidya Balan, in which she played the role of a radio jockey.

He has also dubbed for Hindi versions of Hollywood films; The Incredibles (2004) as ‘Mirage (Mona)’ and Thor: Ragnarok (2017) as ‘Valkyrie/Scrapper 14’. In 2020, he participated in the TV reality show “Khatron Ke Khiladi 10” aired on Colors TV.

Controversy
In 2017, he posted a video addressing the issue of potholes in Mumbai and criticizing the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The video went viral but he had to face the wrath of Shiv Sena, the ruling party in BMC. Following this, a Shiv Sena councilor released his video; Counterattack on Malishka’s song. In early 2019, the BMC invited Malishka to monitor its pre-monsoon works and also brief her about the functioning of the civic body. However, this did not stop Malishka and she posted another video criticizing BMC.

- RJ Malishka trained Vidya Balan for the film “Lage Raho Munnabhai”, in which Vidya was playing the role of an RJ. Talking about this he said,
I think it was Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s idea. You know, Raju Hirani (Munnabhai director) once called me and said that Chopra is a big fan of mine, and wants to create a character on my personality in his next film. After that, Vidya used to come to the studio to learn the prerequisites and methods to become an RJ. I wouldn’t say she copied me, because I use ‘Guuuuud’ in my greetings and she ‘Moorning’!
