- In his childhood, Ravi Bahl was fascinated by American martial artist Bruce Lee. His attraction led her to take karate lessons from a boy named Suresh, who had a black belt in karate. In an interview, Ravi reminisced about the days when he specifically saved money to buy a nunchaku from a boy living in his building.
- Bahl shared an interesting story in an interview about how his passion for karate and nunchaku got him his big break in Hindi cinema with the film ‘Morcha’ (1980). Veteran cinematographer Ravikant Nagaich had noticed Ravi’s skills while visiting Bahl’s house to meet his father. He saw Ravi practicing karate and performing tricks with his nunchaku. One day, Nagaich asked Ravi’s mother, Savita, if she would consider letting Ravi act in a film, as he had often seen Ravi practicing with his nunchaku in front of the mirror.
- Ravi Bahl displayed keen interest in dance from a young age. He participated in many dance competitions and achieved notable positions. Talking about this, he told in an interview that his childhood friends, actor Javed Jaffrey and television director Naved Jaffrey were also fond of dance.
