Riyaz Bhati is a wanted Indian gangster who is accused of being a close associate of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Riyaz is a self-made builder and has a construction company named “SA Bhati & Sons” in Mumbai. Bhati also holds various positions in several Indian sports bodies. Since February 2017, he has been serving as the Managing Director of Indian Sports Academy Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai. The gangster has also been booked in several cases of extortion, firing, land grabbing, forgery and fraud. A look-out notice was also issued against Riaz in 2007 for several offences.

Riyaz Siraj Bhati was born on Monday, 19 February 1968 (age 53 years; as in 2021) in Mumbai. Their zodiac sign is Aquarius. Bhati, who grew up in Mumbai, holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Shabu Siddiq College, Mumbai, where he studied between 1983–1986.

After starting his career, Bhati gradually became a promoter at Sneha Construction in 1999, where he worked for three years till 2002. While working as a builder, Riaz simultaneously started working with Lashkar Channel and became its director in 2000. Position till 2007. Riyaz was booked in a Malad land grab case in 2009, and in 2010, the gangster was charged in a case of organized crime along with Chhota Shakeel and others. Riyaz was charged under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act) for forcing a builder to leave a redevelopment project in Andheri.

The gangster has been accused of several extortion cases, most of which are registered against him at Mumbai’s Juhu and Amboli police stations. He was also an accused in two cases of firing and intimidation in Khandala in 2007 and 2008.
fake passport
In 2013, Riyaz was caught with a fake passport. In October 2015 and February 2020, Bhati was again caught for the same offense at two different airports. On 28 October 2015, he was caught and arrested for trying to flee to South Africa by forging a passport. After being in police custody for five days, Riaz was sent to judicial custody, where he was granted bail on 3 November 2015. Since Bhati is a wanted criminal, court orders barred him from traveling outside India, but Riaz was arrested in 2020. At Mumbai International Airport in an attempt to flee the country to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) once again using a fake passport.

Bhati was behind bars again in July 2019 after being accused of forging documents and signatures of trustees of Wilson College. Reportedly, he did this to get honorary membership of a club of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), and according to the association, he was already a member of the club since 2013.
Parambir Singh extortion case
In July 2021, Riyaz Bhati was named in an FIR lodged at Goregaon police station, which also named former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and dismissed assistant inspector Sachin Waze in an extortion case. In this case, Bhati was accused of collecting money from bars and restaurants for another suspended police inspector. In September 2021, Riaz moved the court for anticipatory bail, which was rejected. Since then Bhati is absconding and a search warrant has also been issued against the gangster.

In 2021, the culprit was accused by his wife Rahnuma Bhati of forcing her into prostitution for 15 years, blackmailing her with sensitive photos and videos and threatening to kill their two children. Rehnuma submitted an application at a police station in Mumbai on 24 September 2021, in which she alleged that Riaz repeatedly forced her to have sex with his business associates, famous sportspersons and politicians. In the application, he also accused cricketers Hardik Pandya and Munaf Patel, Indian National Congress politician and former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla and RSBL MD Prithviraj Kothari. Accusing others of raping her. Some media reports revealed that Rahnuma had also accused her husband of marital rape.
