Ricardo Horta began his football career after joining the youth ranks of Vitoria de Setúbal in 2011, from SL Benfica. He made his debut for the team on 7 April 2013, replacing Cristiano in the second half in a 2–1 away defeat against Rio Ave FC in the Primeira Liga.
