Taylor said it herself: Karma is her boyfriend. But it turns out that her good karma goes back much further than her midnight album, as a resurfaced interview shows the icon made a wish for her current romance at just 19 years old.
In a 2009 conversation with Glamor magazine, Taylor Swift put her wish out into the universe, listing the qualities her ideal man would have.
“It will always be long distance, even if I’m dating the guy who lives next door to me in Nashville. I’ll fly out to see him and take him places so he can see me,” Swift said. “It sounds like it would involve more programming, and I already deal with a lot of programming in my life. Of course, if I met someone worth my salt, I’d probably stop thinking that way!
The pop sensation added that the man of her dreams would be “someone with a similar level of success.” Well, Taylor Swift is a once-in-a-generation celebrity, but an NFL star comes pretty close.
“I think it’s more of a trust thing,” Swift explained. “I wouldn’t want to be with a pushover who would let me make all the plans and have all the control. It’s very natural for me to go into planning mode, but I prefer to be with someone who has their own voice, passion and ambition.”
