Macaulay Culkin has always kept his personal life a secret. The star of the movie Home Alone tried her best to keep her friendships and relationships private. However, Hollywood is not a place for lasting secrets. Culkin, on the other hand, keeps his life private. A testament to this is his nearly ten-year relationship with his ex-girlfriend Mila Kunis. They dated for a long time, but few people knew about it, and less and less understood the nuances of their relationship.

Culkin and Kunis met in the early days of their acting careers and began dating. “No one seems to be paying attention. And I will be engaged again next week,” she continued. “What’s wrong with these people? Half the time you can argue that they get the facts wrong. But most of the time they just make things up.”

In the same interview, she said that they are “very secretive” and that they value the solitude they can maintain. Kunis went as far as to describe him as “probably the most intellectual person I’ve ever met” and “a wonderful human being.”
She praised him for his down-to-earth demeanor and ability to stand his ground despite his difficult past. Kunis said in 2009 that they actually grew up together and he gave her a lot of stability. She attributes her success to him and calls him a “solid rock” throughout her life. In September 2009, they also attended Michael Jackson’s funeral as a group. In retrospect, this was the culmination of their love, and it’s been downhill ever since.
Mila Kunis takes responsibility for their breakup
The couple surprised the world in 2011 when they announced their separation after 8 years together. In the end, she screwed up, though it would be revealed years later. Her spokesperson said in their statement that they remain on good terms and the breakup was “amicable”. A year later, in an interview with Elle UK (via HuffPost), she still praises Culkin, whom she credits for helping her adjust to life at such a young age.
She only talked more about how things ended in 2016, but neither of them found out the truth. She told Howard Stern that she and Culkin weren’t in a regular relationship because of his popularity. In 2018, she revealed that she was the one who “walked away” during their “horribly awful” breakup. She apologized for what she did and how she handled the breakup, even calling herself a “rude” for it.
They are “certainly not as intimate as [they] could have happened,” she said, contradicting their cozy farewell statement. However, the allegation that Kunis cheated on Culkin with Kutcher is untrue and they are not responsible. The two are currently in a serious relationship: Kunis has two children with current husband Kutcher, while Culkin has one with girlfriend Brenda Song, whom he has met since 2017.
