So far in my career
Joakim started his football career with local team Ostervra IF before moving to AaB at the age of 12. He made his way to the first team in 2016 at the age of 19, through hard work and dedication, and also earning full-time contract with the club next year. Later that year, he agreed to a new contract until 2020. He joined Belgian club Genk in July 2017, following right-back Timothy Castagne. He did not start his first season at the club because he was competing for a starting spot with Clinton Mata.
After Clinton Mata joined Club Brugge, he earned a permanent starting spot in his second season. With three goals and five assists, he helped the team win their fourth league title. Atlanta signed him to a five-year contract in December 2020, but his transfer was not completed until January 4, 2021. In 25 appearances for his country, Joakim has been has 9 goals. He is famous for his excellent play and is often recognized as one of the best defenders in the world. Many big clubs such as West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in him.
