Ramkripa Ananth was born in 1971 (age 49 years; as in 2020). He studied Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani). Additionally, he did post-graduation in Industrial Design from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. She joined Mahindra & Mahindra in 1997 where she worked as an interior designer for the Bolero, Scorpio and Xylo.

livelihood
After completing her post graduation in Industrial Design from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay, she joined Mahindra & Mahindra as an Interior Designer to handle the interior designing segment of Bolero, Scorpio and Xylo. He was then appointed to develop a premium SUV vehicle for the company as they were keen to tap the market of premium SUVs and give competition to other companies. To take the project forward, the first phase of development was completed where they conducted a survey of 1500 people to get information about their expectations from the upcoming premium SUV. Ramkripa herself is a very active and adventurous person and has covered the distance from Manali to Srinagar on her Bajaj Avenger bike. Inspiration from outside helped him develop the car. When the project started, Ramkripa Anant was the first female design head in India, given the responsibility of leading the project of designing a car. The project began in 2007 and Krupa spent four years designing the car with her team of 20 employees. Finally, in 2011, the XUV 500 was launched and instantly became a big hit.

- While working on the XUV500, Ramkripa was asked to take inspiration from the cheetah for the designing process.
- Following the success of their first project as a team, the XUV500 team continued to work on the alpha-numeric series and designed the TUV300, KUV100 and they redesigned the XUV500. Along with this, they were also working on a new MVP. , Marazzo.
- Ramkripa’s team consists of young and motivated people. Currently, there are 5 female designers on her team, and she believes that every person has a value regardless of their gender.
- She loves her job because she gets to visit automobile shows, meet new people, and see new vehicles. He also loves spending time in London or Paris, so he can sit on a busy street and watch a beautiful Lamborghini or any other sports car drive by.
