In 2013, I met Mr. Nayan Shah, the first Indian over fifty to complete an Ironman. I was amazed when I heard this! The legal age to compete in an Ironman triathlon is eighteen years old. I knew my eighteenth birthday would be on a Saturday and there would definitely be an Ironman I could try for somewhere in the world, so I started training.

The minimum age criteria to participate in triathlon is 18 years. In 2019, on the day of triathlon i.e. 7 December 2019, Aditya turned 18 and became the world’s youngest Ironman. The triathlon was held in Bahrain and Aditya took 6 hours, 5 minutes and 4 seconds to complete it. He was trained by Dr. Mihir Patki, who is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine doctor.
