Rajendra Singh Yadav was born on Friday, 13 November 1959 (age 64 years; as of 2023), in Village Kichha, Nainital, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand), India. Their zodiac sign is Scorpio. In 2008, Rajendra Singh Yadav contested the MLA election from Kotputli constituency but lost to LSWP’s Ramswaroop Kasana by a close margin of 893 votes. He contested the elections for the second time in 2013 and was elected MLA from Kotputli, Rajasthan. He was a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for a decade from 2013 to 2023, winning two consecutive terms. He is credited with breaking the tradition of no MLA being elected to a second term in Kotputli since India’s independence in 1947. In 2023, Rajendra Singh Yadav lost his seat to BJP candidate Hansraj Patel Gurjar by a close margin. 321 votes.

In January 2022, as the Higher Education Minister of Rajasthan, Rajendra Singh launched Gyandoot 2.0, an online education program to help students learn and prepare for exams. In an interview, he said that the College Education Department has taken the initiative to prepare e-content in Hindi language in various subjects for students. The program also includes online live sessions which will help the students to clear their doubts. In February 2022, Rajendra Singh Yadav introduced a bill to prevent cheating, use of unfair means and leaking of examination papers. The bill states that the culprits caught can face jail up to 10 years and a fine up to Rs 500. 1 crore. The bill was introduced after the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) paper was leaked, resulting in the exam being cancelled.

Controversy
IT and ED raid on mid-day meal scam
On September 7, 2022, Rajendra Singh Yadav’s house and factories were raided in Rajasthan, Gurugram (in Haryana) and Uttarakhand by the Income Tax (IT) department in connection with the irregular provision of food to students studying in government schools. Denying the allegations, Rajendra Singh talked about the IT raid in an interview and said,
IT department officials came to my premises today at 8 am. They also raided my locations in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Gurugram, where my children and family run businesses. The search operation is going on, everything will become clear soon.”
On December 26, 2023, around 10 locations of Rajendra Singh and his associates were raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) department over the alleged mid-day meal scam.

The statement was in response to the sudden increase in suicides of students studying in coaching institutes in Kota, Rajasthan. He further talked about the marketing strategy of coaching institutes which highlight the performance of only toppers to attract more students and said,
We are considering imposing some checks on their hoardings and boards. They market their institutions by highlighting toppers but do not disclose how many students study in their institutions. If 20,000 students take coaching in your institute and 30 of them are toppers, then it is natural.
