Pushkar Sharma was born on Thursday, 12 October 2000 (age 22 years; as of 2022) in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India. His zodiac sign is Libra. He was 5 years old when he started learning cricket from his relatives and expressed his desire to become a cricketer, which was supported by his father. During his childhood, his family moved to Greater Noida, near Delhi, and he enrolled at the YMCA Cricket Academy and trained under coaches Subhash Chaudhary and Jagat Kishore. At the age of 7, he moved to Mumbai and lived with his uncle Raj Kumar in Navinagar. He studied at Al-Barakat Malik Muhammad Islam English School in Kurla, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Later his father also moved to Mumbai and both of them started living in Kureshnagar, Mumbai. He played badminton and athletics for his school team before becoming a full-time cricketer for his school. He completed his graduation in commerce from Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India.

Pushkar used to sit at Azad Maidan in Mumbai and watch the cricket games played on the ground. In 2010, coach Nafees asked him if he wanted to play club cricket, to which he agreed and started playing the game for his school. He scored 261 runs in a match against BAK Swadhyay Bhawan (Matunga) in the Giles Shield Elite Division Trophy in 2012. This performance earned him a place in the training camp of the Mumbai Under-14 team and later, he was appointed as the captain. Mumbai Under-16 team. He played for Bohra Cricket Club from 2012 to 2016. From 2016 to 2017, he played for the Shivaji Park Gymkhana team. In 2016, his father developed cancer, due to which Pushkar could not play for 6 months. His father passed away on 2 January 2017 and after this Pushkar took a break from cricket and almost left the game. When his mother advised him to continue playing cricket, he started looking for teams where he could play and earn money. He played for Juhu Club from 2017 to 2018 and in October 2018, he joined IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company as a phone manager. He also played corporate cricket for their team and won many matches for them. He emerged as one of the best players and after seeing his performance, his childhood coach Digambar Patekar told him about the opportunity to play in the Kenyan Cricket League. He went to Kenya and scored three half-centuries in 4 matches. Mansukh Hirani, President of Rooraka Sports Club and CEO of Hirani Telecom Limited, was impressed by his performance and offered him a job as a project manager in his company and a chance to play for his cricket team. He moved to Kenya in December 2019 and has scored consistently in several tournaments. In 2021, he became the Marketing Manager at Hirani Telecom Limited. He captained Ruaraka Sports Club in Kenya’s biggest 50-over league, the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Provincial Super Division League, in 2021 and scored 841 runs in 14 matches. He was selected for the Eldoret Elephants team in the 2022 African Premier League held in Kenya.

In the Dafabet Africa Cricket Premier League (ACPL Kenya T20) held in 2022, he scored 228 runs at a strike rate of 115 and took 5 wickets at an economy of less than 7, helping his team Nakuru Leopards win the trophy.
He made his T20I debut for Kenya on 17 November 2022 in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-regional Africa “A” Qualifier tournament in the match against Saint Helena at the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium, Kigali, Rwanda.
