Indian talent Preeti Shenoy was born on 21 December 1971 in Kerala, India and has 14 bestsellers to her credit. He received his education in various Kendriya Vidyalayas of India. He did his 11th and 12th from Kendriya Vidyalaya Girinagar and graduated in commerce from St. Teresa’s College. The popular author has been consistently nominated for the Forbes 100 Most Influential Celebrities list since 2013. Since childhood, she was interested in art, so she used to do drawing and painting. She is a self-taught painter. She has been a best-selling author for quite some time. The author debuted in 2008 with a successful book, 34 Bubblegums and Candles. He is often cited as one of the first to produce creative non-fiction.
Family
The author lost her father KVJ Kamath in 2006 and her mother Priya Kamath now lives in Kerala. The author appears to be a family member. She spends a lot of time with them and has a close relationship with her family.

The now bestseller started a blog ’21 Days of Positivity’ in 2006 to try and cope with the death of her father. Grieving the loss and talking about coping with the loss on her blog, she says,
I lost him (his father) way back in 2006, but for anyone struggling with grief I can tell you one thing, the pain never goes away, you just learn to manage it better And you learn to move on with your daily life but everyone remains happy. From now on the memory will be clouded with sadness and this is something you have to accept.
Blog writing soon turned into writing for newspaper columns. He has contributed stories to the Chicken Soup series. The poem was followed till his book. The first book she wrote was based on a creative non-fiction piece from a newspaper column she used to write. The book was translated into many languages, including Turkish, and was highly successful. The author’s career has been nothing but a beautiful journey, but Preeti says that before becoming the bestseller she is today, her books had to face rejection.
I faced countless rejections for my second book, which later did very well and was translated into various Indian languages as well as Turkish. I am glad that my books have been translated into Marathi, Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu, and have been well accepted across the country. I am appreciated by people from all backgrounds and it is both humbling and overwhelming. The journey so far has been very good. I have worked hard to get to where I am.
The author says that no matter where one is in one’s career, rejection hurts but it is important to believe in oneself. The author’s first book, ‘Bubblegums and Candies’ is a humorous and charming book that contains incidents inspired by her own life. It came out in 2008, she revisited the book in 2018 and added perspective to her first book, ‘Love a Little Stronger’, creating another bestseller. Talking about her 2015 book ‘Why We Love the Way We Do’ she shares the inspiration behind how important it is to step out of one’s comfort zone, also reflecting on how she feels she can inspire the youth Understand.
I am able to connect well with the youth because I understand and understand them,” she says. “I think most people don’t understand them. I was recently reading a book called ‘The Teenage Brain’ by Dr. Francis Jensen, which I could relate to. Jensen is a neuroscientist and has analyzed the adolescent brain and I find that book fascinating. And, then my being on social media is incidental. Before I became a writer I always had a blog and was on social media.
She has been blogging even before becoming a best-selling Indian female author. She has produced excellent and brilliant works, which she attributes to her understanding of her readers. She says people would rather read something they can relate to than read about a foreign land miles away. She also says that her enthusiasm to work hard in sports is the same as that of boys; after writing a book, according to her, marketing is equally important. All his books have performed exceptionally well. She feels completely inspired by Ruskin Bond’s writing style. The author deviated from her usual writing style and challenged herself with her new book ‘The Magic Mindset’. She feels it is not only an important moment in her career but she wants a legacy for two children who can read it because she feels it is a practical guide unlike other self-help books. It is not heavy handed and goes on to explain that the book is not a messiah of hope, ignoring the ground realities of life. Rather it is a self-help book with a practical approach to achieving a happy life.

When her fellow writer Chetan Bhagat was accused of stealing someone else’s work, Preeti had a strong opinion on plagiarism. He was seen saying that accusing people of plagiarism is the easiest thing to do, but coincidences are not so rare in the world of writers. She supported Bhagat, saying that there was nothing strange about the juxtaposition of stories, as she herself was working on a book when she came across the work of an Irish writer who was very similar to hers, whose She could tell by reading the summary. He had to sift through all the hard work of 25,000 words. The allegations against Bhagat were made by Anvita Bajpayee, who claims that she gifted her book to him at the Bengaluru Litfest 2014. Bhagat’s book was based on one of his short stories. He further supported Chetan Bhagat by saying that writers hardly have time to read the works submitted by him unless it is a close or dear friend. She found it really inappropriate but normal, she says, as the storylines often match. Admitting that they are not able to read the books given to them, authors often leave them in hotel rooms. He signed off by saying that justice must be done and he agrees with his fellow writer Tuhin Sinha who says,
“It is foolish to ban a book until the verdict is passed.”

- Preeti is very fond of animals, she has a pet dog and is also fostering 3 stray kittens. She revealed that the pet was gifted to her by her husband Satish, who named him Lostris after the character of Wilbur Smith, who is one of Preeti’s favorite authors.
