Pokémon BDSP: How To Find (& Catch) Latios and Latias

Players can find and capture the legendary Latios and Latias in Pokémon BDSP. It has been a common trend for older legendary Pokémon to reappear in later titles. In the case of Pokémon BDSP, players are able to capture legendary Pokémon from the first four generations, but they will need to wait until they have beaten the main story and have become the Sinnoh Champion. The Sinnoh region will begin to open up, and players can get the National Dex to start finding some new Pokémon that originate from other areas. One of the new areas that will open is Ramanas Park. This is where players will be able to obtain Latios and Latias.

Located on Route 221, Ramanas Park is home to many legendary Pokémon. After players complete the Sinnoh Dex, new caves will begin to spawn in Ramanas Park. In order to access them, players will need to purchase specific slates from the item shop in Ramanas Park. This shop doesn’t take normal currency, however; players must instead purchase slates with Mysterious Shards, an item that can only be found by digging around in the Grand Underground. To find Latios and Latias in Pokémon BDSP, players will need to complete a few activities first.

Latios and Latias appear in Ramanas Park in Pokémon BDSP only after the player has access to the Soul Slate. This item appears in both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and will teleport players to the Soul Room where they can battle Latios and Latias. Before this can happen, players will need to find the Soul Slate.

Finding The Soul Slate For Latios and Latias in Pokémon BDSP

To unlock the Soul Slate, players will first need to find and capture Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. These are the legendary Pokémon that appear behind the Discovery Slate. This will be the only slate available to the player at the beginning of Ramanas Park. All three will be level 70, and the Discovery Slate will disappear whether the player fails to capture it or not.

Capturing these three Pokémon will unlock access to other slates, including the Soul Slate. Players should continue to dig in the Underground to gather resources to purchase the Soul Slate. Once it has been purchased, players can place the slate within the pedestal, and they will be teleported in a room with both Latios and Latias. They will both be level 70, so trainers should make sure to level up fast in Pokémon BDSP to prepare for this battle. After the player has captured both Latios and Latias, the Soul Dew item will appear in the middle of the room.

Pokémon BDSP is available now on Nintendo Switch.
