livelihood
After completing his graduation, he got various campus placement jobs. He also topped the MICA entrance exam for MBA, but chose to volunteer for the Teach for India programme. In September 2012, he co-founded ‘Grabhouse’, a no brokerage rental platform in Mumbai, which was sold to Quikr, an Indian online marketplace and classified advertising company, in 2016. He was then appointed as Assistant Vice President-Marketing at Quikr. Bengaluru, Karnataka. In March 2018, she joined Bangalore-based buy now, pay later platform ‘ZestMoney’ as a marketing strategy consultant and worked there for about a year. She launched ‘Pankhuri’, a women-specific online platform in Bengaluru in September 2019. This platform enabled women to participate in various Internet-based clubs and socialize with each other. They had raised about $3.2 million through Surge for Startups, an accelerator program hosted by Sequoia Capital.
Death
He died of cardiac arrest on 24 December 2021. Many businessmen, including Kalaari Capital founder Vani Kola, shared their grief over his demise. He tweeted,
My heart goes out to his family on this untimely tragedy. His demise is a loss to our startup ecosystem. We lost a bright and young founder, but I know his legacy will live on. It was truly a privilege to know Pankhuri. Rest in peace, Pankhuri.”
Rajan Anandan, managing director of Sequoia India, tweeted,
Deeply saddened and shocked by this sudden loss. Pankhuri was full of life, ideas and passion and had missionary zeal. We love having Pankhuri in our Serge family and we will miss you very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
