Quinta understands the challenges: “Not only am I 4 feet 11 inches tall, [but] “I’m 4-foot-11, I have boobs and a butt, and that’s just the cardinal sin: being short and having the nerve to have any kind of curve.”

However, she also knows the frustrations.

“There were times when I was working with other stylists and I had to say, ‘I’m not that young,’ or ‘This looks too young to me.’ And it would be like, ‘No, you can do it,’” she said. “And I said, ‘But it’s not about making it.’ It’s about what I want to represent when I come to certain awards shows or certain events that I have to attend.’”

“I’m not just an actress, not just a writer, not just a producer, not just a showrunner,” Quinta continued. “I want to make sure I can convey who I am through what I wear.”

Despite the challenges, Quinta found a perfect stylist for her: Bryon Javar.

“As I talk to Bryon about how I want to present [myself at] at an awards show or at an event, I think, Wow… I’m getting to say who I am through clothes and I plan to do that more because I plan to talk less in the future,” she said.

Quinta isn’t the first celebrity to speak out about the challenges that come with being curvier or taller in Hollywood.
