- Padmavati Rao has translated five plays of Girish Karnad and 30 Days in September by Mahesh Dattani into Hindi language.
- Although she has performed many plays, she was highly appreciated for her solo performance based on Dhiruben Patel’s work “Kitchen Poems” and she considers this performance as the major achievement of her career.
- When the COVID-19 pandemic threw the world into crisis, Padmavati Rao took an initiative for the farming community. He focused his attention on villages outside Bengaluru where he propagated natural farming methods and arts and crafts as it was his long-standing desire to serve the farming community. He contributed to the farmers by building a non-electric and cost-effective refrigerator on his own using affordable construction materials. In an interview, he quoted,
I wanted to serve the farming community for a long time. For this, I created an economical refrigerator which does not run on electricity.
- According to her, she had aspired to take up farming since the age of 23; Furthermore, she has been prominently concerned with the issue of farmer suicides in India for a long time. This inspired him to invent a cost-effective refrigerator that would help farmers keep their vegetables fresh if they are unable to sell them. The idea of making affordable fridges came to her mind when the wall of her premises was damaged, and she wanted to make creative use of the bricks from that damaged wall; Inspired him to create a non-electric and cost-effective refrigerator. Despite the cement and sand, she used sack material, an old flattened cardboard carton, an old wire rack, and a river-weed mat to serve as a sliding door (chapi, To check the results, he placed oranges, tomatoes and milk in the refrigerator. Oranges last for 28 days, tomatoes for 15 days, and milk, boiled once daily, for a week. They also tested the refrigerator in the peak of summer. When he added water to the bag contents three times a day, the oranges and tomatoes showed no signs of dehydration or rot. Cooked food kept after dinner was good for lunch the next day and vegetables would last for about two to three days. His invention is commendable.

- Along with farming, Padmavati has many interests like sewing, repairing, cycling and writing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he also devoted his time to writing. He worked on three books simultaneously – the first was on his mother’s prescriptions, the second was a book of poems called “Of Love and Silence” and the third was a play.
