Grounding is a unique twist in the survival game genre that shrinks the player down to the size of an ant so that the tiniest creature suddenly becomes huge and deadly. The battlefield is the backyard and spiders are the deadliest enemies, players must find food and water to keep themselves alive while discovering why the spiders have become so small. The game can be played alone or with up to 4 players in co-op mode, where the player traverses landscapes filled with towering tree trunks and toys scattered throughout the environment. Set in the 1990s, this game is really reminiscent of the 1989 movie Baby, I scared the kids, When asked, Obsidian confirmed that it was inspired by the landmark film.

Although the early access version was released on PC, it was also released on Xbox One and remains one of the newest survival games exclusively for Xbox. Under the banner of Xbox Game Studios, Grounding Also released last November on Xbox Series X/S, the full game is slated to release sometime around 2021, but no other platforms have been revealed.
Grounding Seems like a small game with a lot to explore. The addition of mosquitoes, bees, and fireflies only increases the amount of items and animals the player can encounter, including some of the koi fish in the actual tank. Many improvements and fixes have been made to make these work properly, players who like survival games should definitely give this game a try as it is like a breath of fresh air in the genre.
