Before people start asking why I changed my second name from Johal to Gill, I thought it would be better for me to explain. My parents divorced when I was young and I had no contact with my biological father. The man in the picture is my ‘stepfather’, but in my heart he is my real father because he has raised me and loved me like no one else. She is truly one in a million and I had been thinking of changing my surname for a long time because I am proud to be her daughter.
