Saran Raj (1994–2023) was an Indian actor and assistant director, who worked predominantly in South Indian films. He died in a car accident in Chennai on 8 June 2023. The accident happened when he was riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet. The car driven by junior actor Palaniappan collided with his bike, resulting in Saran’s instant death.

Saran Raj aka Saran Rajesh was born in 1994 (age 29 years at the time of death) in Dhanalakshmi Nagar, Maduravoyal, Chennai. He did his schooling from Rajiv School of Excellence Mat & HR. Sec. School, Chennai. After this he took admission in SKR Engineering College, Chennai.

Apart from working as an assistant director, he has also acted in some Tamil films such as ‘Poladhavan’ (2007), ‘Aadukalam’ (2011), ‘Vada Chennai’ (2018), and ‘Asuran’ (2019).
Death
On June 8, 2023, a junior artist named Palaniappan hit Saran’s motorcycle with his car. The accident happened at around 11.30 pm on Arcot Road in KK Nagar. Saran was seriously injured and died on the spot. According to reports, Palaniappan was driving the car in an inebriated state. The accident occurred when Palaniappan was driving on Arcot Road in KK Nagar at 11.30 pm. Saran died instantly. A person passing by immediately called the nearby police. After investigation it was found that Palaniappan of Saligramam was responsible for the accident. The police reportedly arrested him. The local police also learned that Saran was not wearing a helmet while riding the motorcycle, due to which he suffered serious head injuries.
