Nayanjyoti was born on Wednesday, 12 March 1997 (age 26 years; as in 2023) in Tinsukia, Assam. His zodiac sign is Pisces.

He did his schooling from Soumrajyoti Vidyalaya, Tinsukia, Assam and joined Gyan Vigyan Academy, Dibrugarh for class 12th. He completed his graduation from Girijanand Chaudhary Institute of Management and Technology, Guwahati. In college, there was vitamin deficiency in his body because he used to eat tasteless and sometimes spicy food in the hostel. So he used to eat plain rice with chips. After being admitted to the hospital, doctors asked him to eat proper vegetables. During his second year, he started living on rent with his cousin in Guhavati. His friends and cousins used to come to his house for parties and eat food cooked by him. He inspired her to learn cooking professionally. Before becoming a part of the show MasterChef India, he used to work with his father in his tea garden. In his free time he used to cook new dishes. He helped his father grow vegetables like potatoes and cauliflower in his garden. They also cultivated starfruit and oranges which were used to make wine.

MasterChef India
In 2023, Chef Vikas Khanna found his Instagram page and thought he would be a good fit for the show. They approached him, but Nayanjyoti’s father was hesitant about sending his son to a cooking show. Somehow, Vikas convinced them and Nayanjyoti started her journey as a chef on the show. In an interview, he had said that when Chef Vikas came to his house, he prepared regional food for him, which he liked very much.
He was declared the winner of the show on 31 March 2023.

A few days before the finale episode of the show, a fan page of the show had shared a photo of Nayanjyoti wearing the winner’s golden apron and holding the trophy. After the picture went viral on social media, people started believing that he had won the show. However, he did not win the shop.

Before entering the show, he was not sure whether the judges would like his food or not as he feared that his dishes would not match the standard of the show. However, the dishes cooked by him on the show were chosen as the dish of the day several times.
