Elpidia Carrillo is an actress and director from Mexico. Elpidia Carrillo is famous for her role as Anna in the science fiction action thriller films “Predator 2” (1990) and “Predator” (1987), and as Sandra in the drama film “Nine Lives” (2005).

Early Life and Education

Elpidia Carrillo was born in Parácuaro, Michoacán, Mexico on the 16th of August 1961. She is 61 years old (as of 2022) under the zodiac sign Leo. Carrillo holds a Mexican nationality and follows the Christianity religion.

Regarding her family background, She was one of eight kids. She grew up in a violent and impoverished environment with farm laborers. At the age of 3, Her father got murdered. So, her eldest brother started looking after the family.

He fabricated a birth certificate for Carrillo so she could begin first grade at age four because he wanted her to receive an education.

In 1994, she made a comeback in Mexican cinema with “La Hija del Puma,” In 1997, she appeared in Johnny Depp’s debut, “The Brave.”

She acted in two more Mexican successes, “Un embrujo” (1998), directed by Carlos Carrera, and “La Otra Conquista” (1998), directed by Salvador Carrasco before the 1990s came to an end.

She began the new millennium playing the lead in the drama “Bread and Roses” (2000) alongside Pilar Padilla and Adrien Brody, for which she won the ALMA Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture.
