Brooke Monk is an American social media star with 10.7 million followers on TikTok. She also has 1 million followers on Instagram and 370,000 subscribers on her self-titled YouTube channel. Ella Brooke confesses to not being funny in her TikTok bio, but her content suggests otherwise.
Monk’s daily skits get millions of views, and some of them have gone viral. Monk is a self-confessed makeup enthusiast and most of her YouTube content has to do with makeup.
This piece will look at Brooke’s meteoric rise on social media, her perspective on relationships, and her opinionated nature.
Brooke has earned more than ten million followers on TikTok in about nine months.
Brooke was born on January 31, 2003 and grew up with four sisters. She opened her TikTok account in September of 2019, and by November of that year, she had amassed 370,000 followers. Over the next nine months, she amassed over 10 million followers on the dance and lip sync platform. In a November 2019 Q&A, Brooke explained how she creates her content:
“Create content, publish it, [and] look where it goes If you ever have an idea, make sure you put it in your phone notes because it’s easy to forget if you can’t form a TikTok at the time, which I’m sure most of us can’t. .. Find audio that fits the idea you have, and make it relatable to a wide audience and you’ll have the best luck doing it. That’s basically what I’ve been doing.”
Brooke’s homeschooling could help because it gives her more time to focus on social media. Brooke’s homeschooling also helped her finish school faster than her peers, even though she never skipped a grade.
She doesn’t feel like she’s ready for a relationship, but she knows what she wants in a potential partner.
Monk appreciates that he has a different take on relationships compared to most of his peers. In his November 2019 YouTube video, he described starting dating before the age of 18 like “putting your heart out on a battlefield and waiting to get shot.” She feels that you have to work on growing before committing to a person. She explained:
“I know that I don’t have a character developed enough to be able to have someone else depend on me emotionally and occupy my time in general. I think I have a lot more to work on, things I want to do before I’m in a relationship.”
Brooke maintains that her value is not determined by whether she is single or in a relationship. “You have the same value alone as in a relationship, and that value is infinite,” she added. Despite her views on teen relationships, Brooke has a rough idea of the person she wants to be in a relationship with and eventually marry.
She knows that there is no such thing as the perfect partner and she will have to choose someone with flaws that she is willing to tolerate. However, there are issues that Brooke does not compromise, including the religion of the person of hers. Brooke explained:
“I don’t think there is someone who is a perfect fit for me but general characteristics: Loves Jesus, always willing to chat about Christianity. Definitely super respectful and in general if a guy treats his mom with respect he will treat his girl with respect. Definitely willing to be a better person and help others in the world…and someone who respects my parents.”
Brooke is very opinionated, but appreciates respectful discussions about her values.
Brooke is very opinionated and knows that she might inadvertently come off as rude when expressing her values. She stands firm in her opinions, but she appreciates respectful discussions about the values she holds dear. Monk explained:
“If you want to change my views, have a respectful conversation with me. Don’t treat me like dirt just because you don’t agree. That is a complete sign of immaturity on the part of the other person. You’re basically having a fit, come back to me when you can be a young adult.”
Monk’s combative nature has helped her deal with the trolls that go after her content and appearance. “I know that my value is not determined by someone’s point of view of me,” she said. “I think that’s a very important thing to keep in mind when you’re getting criticism from people.”
