Namrata Joshi is an Indian journalist and film critic. He has worked with many renowned media houses in India including Outlook and The Hindu.
Namrata Joshi studied English Literature from Delhi University. He pursued his further studies in media at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, Maharashtra and the Times Center for Media Studies in Delhi. His excellence in evaluating films led him to work with Outlook as a Senior Associate Editor for 16 years.

He worked with many prestigious newspapers and magazines like The Guardian, The Wire (India), Al Jazeera, The Print (India), Deccan Herald, Dizon, Open, Silverscreen India, Newsclick, National Herald India, Outlook (India) Is. Firstpost, Mint, The Hindu, Dawn and Khaleej Times. She has also been a member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI).
He marked himself as an author by launching his first book ‘Reel India: Cinema of the Beaten Track’ on 20 July 2019. It is a book of 250 pages in which he has analyzed the impact of cinema on society and what it does.
She has written several reports for various international film festivals, including a report titled ‘A Woman’s Moscow’ at the 29th Moscow International Film Festival, a report on Relationships on a Breakdown Mode at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival, ‘Women Interrupted’ at the 38th Is included. Toronto International Film Festival, and a report on the 10th Kerala International Film Festival.
Namrata Joshi has been a jury member at several international film festivals including the 10th Cluj Transylvania International Film Festival, 10th Kerala International Film Festival, 29th Moscow International Film Festival and 38th Toronto International Film Festival.
Namrata Joshi won the National Film Award for Best Film Critic in 2004.
