Esteemed MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace shared heartwarming news Tuesday during the Deadline: White House segment, announcing the arrival of a new member to their family. Wallace, 51, and her husband Michael S. Schmidt, 40, welcomed a baby girl named Isabella Sloane through a surrogate.
“Viewers of the show probably noticed that Nicolle wasn’t in this chair last week,” said fill-in host Alicia Menendez as she briefly welcomed Wallace to share the happy news.
“Mike, Liam and I are in love with her,” Wallace said, referring to his 11-year-old son Liam from his previous marriage. However, he humorously added: “Our dogs are still judging.”
Despite not having the baby herself, Wallace revealed that she and Schmidt managed to keep the news a secret from their growing family. She expressed her joy in sharing this wonderful news with viewers, despite not intending to keep it a secret.
Reflecting on the experience of becoming a mother again at this stage of life, Wallace acknowledged the mixed feelings. “You’re tired. I was up all night last night and I thought, ‘Wow, yeah, that’s 3:45 am,'” she candidly shared.
However, Wallace emphasized the joy of focusing on family again, stating, “It’s a blessing to be, you know, focused back on what has always grounded me, and that’s my beautiful family.”
Nicolle, who shares her son Liam with her ex-husband Mark Wallace, did not specify her return date from maternity leave.
In a surprising revelation, Page six revealed in April 2022 that Wallace and Schmidt had secretly married in a private ceremony. Additionally, in March 2019, Page six exclusively reported that the couple had started dating after meeting on the set of his show, where Schmidt frequently appears as a guest and commentator.
As Nicolle Wallace cherishes this new chapter with her extended family, viewers and supporters await her return and celebrate the happy arrival of Isabella Sloane into their lives.
