controversies

defamation case

In 2019, during an interview, her daughter Payal’s husband Dicky Sinha shared that he would be filing a defamation case against Moushumi. Dickey’s response arose from Chatterjee’s allegations that her daughter Payal did not receive proper care from her husband Dickey and his family. In a video shared online, Dicky can be heard saying that he and his family truly loved and cared for Payal to the best of their abilities. He cited prescriptions and medical documents from various hospitals as evidence that he was undergoing treatment. Furthermore, despite Chatterjee’s claims to the contrary, he stressed his deep love for his wife. Due to dryness in his eyes, doctors ranging from pulmonologist to nephrologist, gastroenterologist, neurosurgeon, neurologist and ophthalmologist would come to him and treat him. The video ended with Dicky saying that two trained nurses had looked after Payal from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, with all the details recorded. In 2018, Moushumi had to go through a legal battle for Payal’s custody. She had accused Dicky and Payal’s in-laws of neglecting their daughter’s well-being. Your mother might have seemed fierce, but we were all a little afraid of her. She didn’t tolerate any nonsense.”
