Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby, who first met on the eighth season of Bachelor in Paradise, have called it quits. On Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast on September 18, 2023, Michael gave the following breaking news:
“I guess I’ll just go out with it. We are not together anymore. It’s not what we planned. We both put a lot into this relationship and it’s really horrible when it doesn’t work out. You mourn the loss of not only that person and that friend in your life, but also the future you envisioned. And it’s not her fault. She poured everything into this,” he said.
He added:
“I just have so much admiration. I guess that’s it for now. We’re still, you know, working things out and trying to stay close. But yes, [the] the last few months have been really hard. Starting over is always scary. It’s really scary, but that’s part of it.”
Michael Allio also talked about how difficult the current situation is, but he believes that everything will be resolved in the end. The two celebrities met on the set of the eighth season of Bachelor in Paradise. Their first kiss happened during their first date, which fans watched on the show in October 2022. Their relationship was quite notable at the time.

Michael Allio was previously married to Laura, who died of cancer in 2019, leaving behind their son James. On the other hand, Danielle Maltby was engaged before, but her lover committed suicide in 2011.
The former couple had a great connection during Season 8, but instead of getting engaged, they continued to work on their relationship after the show ended. Allio then said:
“Since Laura died, I have had difficulty giving and receiving love. And for the longest time I felt incredibly just lost, wandering, numb, you know? I carry it with me everywhere so I don’t get lost. On the inside it says ‘I’ll find you wherever you are’. And I can’t help but think that this compass led me to you [Danielle].”
As for Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby’s romance, the stars stopped regularly sharing pictures together in August 2023. In an interview on the She’s All Bach podcast, Michael Allio also revealed the following:
“I will say this. Being in a public relationship is not fun. Danielle and I agree that the two of us are the only people who should be in our relationship. So we think the healthiest way to have a relationship is to keep it private. And we both love each other very much, but we just kind of want to keep things a secret.”
